OSAKA
SUP Open
SEPT 20 -22
The beautiful City of Osaka will welcome the World's best Stand Up Paddle athletes to its beautiful waterways in 2019, while celebrating the sport through a mass participation and Festival experience like no other.
Join us for a weekend to remember, as Osaka rolls out the red carpet for Stand Up Paddlers from all over the world to take in the wonders of the City from the River.
The Osaka SUP Open is stop #3 on the APP World Race Tour, and the 3rd iconic City on the 2019 schedule (following on from London and New York). The event will feature APP World Tour Sprint and Distance Races for the World's Best, Pro-Am, Amateur and Entry level participation opportunities.
It will all kick off with an opening event on the evening of Friday 20th September on the beautiful Nakanoshima Island right at the heart of Osaka. Athletes and guests will then head down the River to one of the most recognizable areas of Osaka, Dotombori Canal. Here the World's best will take to the water to open the event in style, on the eve of what will be a true celebration of SUP in Japan.
Saturday 21st will then see all kinds of Festival and participatory experiences at the Event Village on Nakanoshima Island such as SUP Yoga, Kids Demos and short (1km), fun round the Island Races, not to mention programming with the World's best on the Main Stage.
The afternoon will then feature both Pro-Am and Pro Sprint Racing eliminations that will deliver fast paced and non stop action to audiences on site and online.
Sunday will once again provide a full day of fun and entertainment for all the family, with a full array of participatory experiences, mixed in with programming featuring the World's best and live music and entertainment.
The signature race of the Osaka SUP Open will headline, as Pros, Pro-ams and Amateurs will race around the main Island in its entirety for the culmination of this all important stop on the 2019 APP World Tour.
